Did you know that every life form is surrounded by an aura? The aura is an etheric cloud-like formation made up of electromagnetic energy which radiates around all living entities. It is an intricate and complex system which provides constant interaction with the universal life force. The inner core of the aura is also known to be where the very essence of our existence originates.

The aura represents a chronicle of one’s life. It reveals past-life, present-life and even future information relating to conditions and events still yet to occur. By studying the aura and its functions, we can increase our understanding of ourselves and our capacity to lead more prosperous, healthy and fulfilling lives.

The aura is best described as, The Living Color Spectrum. It contains layers of colors from the rainbow’s seven rays (Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet). The colors found in an aura are just as unique, as the person it surrounds. Colors within the aura are interpreted using color theory methods based on the scientific fact that color is “pure light energy” and each color has a different frequency. Another scientific fact is, light stimulates the body’s endocrine system, which is also associated with and connected to the Chakra system.

The Chakra system contains seven major chakras. The seven major Chakras are, the Root, Sacral Plexus, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Brow or Third Eye, and Crown. There are also minor and secondary chakras within the human body. Chakras are spinning vortex energy centers which are connected to all bodily organs, systems and functions, and are also associated with the seven rainbow colors – like the aura.

Although auras are invisible to the eyes of many, it is common for the aura and chakra energies to be visually seen and sensed intuitively by individuals who possess highly sensitive perception and intuitive abilities. In fact, many children have the ability to see auras and sometimes demonstrate this unique gift through artwork. Children who see auras will often draw their human subjects in vivid colors, extending the colors above or around them.

Most everyone has had occurrences of sensing another person’s aura by simply feeling a presence near, and then turning to find someone there. And, for those who do not readily see or sense the aura, there are techniques available that can assist in developing aura viewing and sensing skills. Aura viewing is like any other skill, it requires a disciplined practice. As one refines the ability to see or sense the aura, knowledge of its complete system can also be learned in order to properly interpret the colors and attributes relating to the aura. The size, shape and colors of an aura are all unique to each individual. The intensity and location of the colors within the aura provide essential information pertaining to all levels of the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body.

During a persons’ physical existence, one may at some point reach an inner longing for more fulfillment in their life. This is primarily when a search for spirituality begins. The search begins in different ways and depends upon our background, what is going on in our present life, and the goals or aspirations we hold for our future. The realm of spirituality can be found in many places. It can be found in churches, by intellectual means, books, teachers, and some find the spiritual kingdom within themselves.

The most rewarding journey ever made is the quest to discover spirituality. Within the inner quest for spirituality, one finds wisdom, knowledge and the realization that beyond our physical existence lie the true gifts of unconditional love and inner peace. All great spiritual leaders are in agreement of the original principle and teaching: “the Kingdom of God, the presence and the power, is within” and when one finds this inner presence, spiritual harmony is also found.

There are many ways to bring spirituality into daily life practices. Spirituality is developed through reading spiritual literature, the hearing of spiritual wisdom, the association of others on the spiritual path, coaching and mentor programs, and most commonly through the practice of meditation.

Meditation is medically endorsed and practiced worldwide. Essential elements in all forms of meditation are mind focus and breath. It is the objective of meditation to sustain an inner silence, and within the meditative experience one finds a calmness and a self-knowing at the center of their infinite being. Meditation is the practice by which we attain a conscious union with God, and come to understand the nature of grace and ultimately bring this Divine presence into daily life experiences.

To assist those who are currently on the spiritual path, or anyone in search of ways to bring spirituality into their life, a personal mentor program is available with Pamela Nine. This highly recommended program is designed for anyone who desires for their present and future existence to have a more personal and fulfilling vision. A spiritual mentor also takes on the role of a teacher in outlining steps to be taken in further advancing the spiritual path. This type of spiritual teacher is also a support base for those who are guided to the program to have someone they trust to confide in and look to for guidance and love.

Through a mentor program, one can learn methods of organization, setting and achieving goals, managing stress, discovering the life purpose, meditation guidance, developing inner awareness and intuitive abilities, and ways to bring the practice of love, healing and spirituality into the reality of everyday life. Pamela’s program is personalized for each individual and is based on the personal and spiritual goals they wish to be obtain. The first step in this life-fulfilling process is taken by scheduling a private consultation to discuss your personal and spiritual goals. The next step is simply to enroll in the program and begin the journey to furthering your spiritual path.

My entire life I have felt “different” I’ll say, for lack of a better word. In a lot of ways I also know that I am. I can be in a room of people and at times I feel as if I know deep within myself, I don’t belong here. It’s an overwhelming and undeniable feeling. It’s not at all that I feel I am above anyone or anything. It’s usually quite the opposite. I have discussed this with others who say they feel the same. So, if you ever hear me say, “yes, I’m a little different, but in a good way” – through reading this you will have a better understanding of why.

I also have an ever present knowing there’s an agenda higher and greater taking place in all of our lives, and I yearn to understand the full meaning of it all. I sometimes feel if I could just be quieter or more still, I could hear or see it clearer. It is at these times, I revert to solitude and take the questions and answers I seek, to my maker. I am thankful for the answers I often receive. Although sometimes the answers are not what I, in my human perception foresee (or at the time, want) the outcome to be. However, I do fully know on a deeper level – that everything really does happen for a reason – and through acceptance of that higher power at work in my life, I move on with perseverance, hope, faith and love.

I know beyond a shadow of a doubt we are all being led. Some refer to it as divine intervention, divine flow, a divine plan, or many other terms. It is written (and I believe) we are all given signs and in that divine flow of our life, we have all been given free will which affects the outcome of our destiny. I believe this and on another level actually “live” it within the Intuitive Counseling work I do. I am still and know I will always be in awe of the validation of Spirit present in my life.

I have had so many lessons, and I mean really hard lessons, in this lifetime. I have also had many life occurrences which I know should already be written down. Some are and some are still in notes here and there. In time, they will be shared in the books I am in the process of writing. I look forward to finishing these projects, but for now I am being guided to write about the interconnectedness and sometimes subtle signs happening in and around each of us constantly and how important it is that we recognize and learn from these signs.

Sometimes it feels like a sense of urgency and other times it’s a calming presence that calls out to me to follow. More often than not, I follow the “calling” I feel, and the outcome again, more times than not, most definitely could and should be categorized in the column of miracles.

Rainbows have always been something I hold very dear for many reasons. Since I was a child, I have been able to see colors emanating from and around people which are known as auras. It was shown to me as being symbolic of the promise of life that God gave us in not causing another flood. And I see auras and the rainbows they are made up of around people, as us actually “living” in that same promise. To me, it’s all really quite beautiful and also symbolic of all the things going on around us on a deeper and spiritual level, that can only be perceived through allowing the door to faith in the unknown to guide us.

I have dozens of pictures of rainbows I have taken throughout the years. One which is very special was seen on my way to visit my dad when he was very close to crossing. I saw a magnificent double rainbow in the sky. I pulled over just to sit and look at its beauty and took some photos of it. It’s funny though and in my opinion, photos never seem to capture how beautiful rainbows really are.

When my boys were babies and as they grew, we had a special routine every night. We would lay together before bedtime and I would read to them and then turn out the light and play lullaby music and sing. One of the songs we sang was “Somewhere Over The Rainbow.” This song always made me feel close to Heaven for some reason . . . and it still does to this day.

In 2004, I was invited to a summer dinner party by dear friends. There, I couldn’t help but notice the beautiful music playing in the background. I was at one point drawn to the CD player where I just stood and listened. I didn’t recognize the artist and asked. I learned it was Eva Cassidy. I had never heard of her or of her music. It played on and soon after, I heard the most beautiful rendition of the “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” song. Chills ran all over me. Over the next few days, I couldn’t get Eva Cassidy out of my mind. I purchased several of her CDs and listened to them often over the next several weeks.

One night toward the end of the summer, I dreamed Eva Cassidy was sitting at the foot of my bed. While she sat there, she used her hands and arms to make gestures to her upper leg and lower stomach areas. I remembered telling her I didn’t understand what she was trying to show me and she smiled and said, I would. She also sang “Somewhere Over The Rainbow” for me. When I woke up, I literally sat upright and cried. It was like I had just heard an angel singing, along with a very overwhelming experience. I tried to go back to sleep and couldn’t. I was restless for hours and finally morning came. The dream I had of her was what I’ve come to know over the years as a dream “visitation.” I knew her visitation was one of those experiences that would forevermore be a part of my life.

As the day went on, I felt more and more unsettled. It was how I feel when I know I am not ‘getting’ what I’m being shown and I knew the feeling would not go away until I had followed through with what I was being guided to do and learn. I finally gave in and sat down at my computer and did a search for “Eva Cassidy.” When I found her website, I was astonished to learn she really was singing like an angel, because she was singing through her heavenly voice that night she came to me. In fact, she had died in 1996 from Melanoma, the most deadly form of skin cancer. In reading her biography, I learned in 1993 she had a malignant mole removed from her upper back and over the progression of three years the Melanoma cancer spread to her lungs and bones. And more specifically (to me) was the statement that her hip area was where she first noted the onset of pain associated with the Melanoma cancer. When I read this, I had those same chills run over me and that often icy feeling on the back of my neck I get, when I know to pay attention.

At the time she appeared to me in the dream visitation, I didn’t put it together that she was in spirit and she was delivering an important message. When I finally learned through the nudges I was receiving, what took her from here, I also knew why I had experienced those overwhelming feelings I’ve felt many times before and also knew why it was so important for me to listen. She was delivering a message which I personally was supposed to hear, loud and clear.

I followed the guidance I was receiving and scheduled a Dermatologist appointment. Several days later, I sat in my Dermatologist’s office and a biopsy was done on a small dark mole located on my lower stomach. I noticed the mole earlier in the year and decided not to have it checked, full well knowing I needed to. Sure enough, the biopsy revealed the mole was an early-stage Melanoma Skin Cancer. The mole had to be surgically removed and was ruled as having been excised within limits, meaning the cancer had not spread to unattainable margins. I was told by my Dermatologist I was very lucky. I smiled and said, “yes I am very thankful . . . for more than you know.”

I’ve been very blessed to have Eva Cassidy with me in dream visitations and in spirit many times since our first encounter. Each time, I experience such a heartfelt gratitude for her presence in my life. I know she played a major role in the deciding factors of me still being here, when in fact if I had not taken heed to the signs and guidance I was being given, the outcome could have definitely been much different.

I invite and encourage everyone to listen to the beautiful music and legacy of Eva Cassidy and to also pay attention to those sometimes subtle nudges and signs we all receive. They could very well change or even save your life. When we take the time to pay attention, we see the signs all around us. We all also have loved ones guiding us in spirit and they too are encouraging us to recognize their presence in our lives.

To some all this may sound strange, but in my life, it’s actually quite common to see spirits and have dream visitations. These are among the experiences in my life, I’ve come to welcome. My life now and always has been a combination of walking and living between the physical and the spirit world. This is a lot of the reason why I feel and know I am, “a little different, but in a good way.” Sometimes it’s hard living among and between the rainbows of both worlds. And yet I’ve chosen to welcome these gifts and all that they bring. I also welcome and so look forward to all the journeys this life is guiding me on and all those I’ve still yet to encounter – both in this world, and the other.

Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is an ancient Japanese art of natural energy healing. The word ‘Reiki’ is made up of two distinct Japanese kanji symbols which are translated as ‘Universal Life Energy’. This advanced system of natural energy healing was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in mid nineteenth century Japan and is known as the “Usui System of Natural Healing.” Today, Reiki is used and practiced worldwide by men, women, and children of all ages and backgrounds who have also discovered its profound and positive healing effects.

Natural, safe and effective benefits

Within the essence of Reiki lies an intrinsic balance between heaven, earth and humanity. It is not based on any belief system, religious affiliation, nor is it dependent on any intellectual capacity, or level of spiritual development. Reiki is recognized as a safe and effective, natural method of healing for the overall body, mind and spirit.

Reiki supports all conventional and alternative methods of healthcare. Benefits are received in all levels of the body for restoring balance, relaxation, and vitality. It is used as an aid in relieving rehabilitative illnesses, depression and grief; and for releasing negative emotions, stress, anxiety, and tension. Other advantages of Reiki include its ability to relieve adverse side effects associated with radiation, chemotherapy, and acute or chronic conditions. Reiki is also an excellent method of treatment to accelerate the process of surgically related recovery, and for boosting the immune system.

Treatment for the whole person

Adhering to the knowledge that healing occurs through divine and unconditional love; Reiki treats the whole person with spiritually guided, natural and nurturing energies. It utilizes the age-old concept that an unseen ‘life force energy’ is flowing through our bodies, giving and sustaining our lives. When our ‘life force energy’ is low or unbalanced, we are more likely to feel stress or experience sickness, and if it remains high and balanced, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

Reiki is primarily recognized as a hands-on system, and also used to transmit distant healing energy. Practitioners of Reiki are attuned to an unlimited access of the Universe’s life force energy, and channel it to recipients during treatments. During a treatment, subtle healing energies are transferred to the physical level through hand placements, either on, or slightly above the recipient’s fully clothed body. The mental, emotional and spiritual levels of the body receive healing energy through concentrated thoughts and feelings of unconditional love.

A Reiki treatment is often described as a wonderful radiant glow permeating and flowing through and around the body promoting feelings of peace, security and well being. The healing life force energy is received where it is needed most, cleansing bodily toxins, releasing blocked energies, and creating a state of balance. The energy associated with Reiki is received to the deepest levels of a person’s being, to causal points of illnesses, and activates the body’s natural ability to heal itself. For many, the experience of Reiki provides an inner awakening or sense of deepened spirituality; and often brings forth renewal of faith, inspiration, and a more purpose driven outlook on life.

Available to everyone
Reiki is available to everyone, and is an amazingly simple technique to learn. It is not taught through the conventional meaning of the word. The use and techniques are taught, while the actual energy of Reiki is transferred to the student during Certified Reiki Classes. A Reiki Master passes on the energy and natural healing ability through an intricate and spiritual ‘attunement’ process. The attunement process enables the student to access the unlimited supply of ‘life force energy’ for their own healing, and for becoming a channel to transmit healing energy to others.

Recognizing the next revolution in health care
Within the mainstream of conventional medicine, studies are continuing on the expanding subject of energy healing, with an overwhelmingly positive consensus. Richard Gerber, M.D., (author of the best-selling book Vibrational Medicine) states, “We are on the verge of a major paradigm shift that extends across the sciences, from physics to medicine and biology.” He further stipulates “We have also arrived at a point in history where science has actually begun to confirm that love is indeed a healing energy and that it can produce measurable, healing effects both within ourselves, and in those around us.”

According to recent surveys, the use of natural and complementary medicine is significantly on the rise. Fully one-third of the American population takes herbs and botanicals, practices meditation, yoga and deep breathing exercises, seeks massage and chiropractic care, follows natural diet-based therapies and practices prayer for healing.

Dealing with physical illnesses
The American philosopher William James once wrote, “The deepest thing in our nature is the region of the heart in which we dwell alone with our faiths and fears.” This statement holds both truth and reality when faced with illness. It is at these times when faith and fear become confrontational factors we tend to endure the most. By choosing faith over fear, many emerge wiser and triumphant. And often within this very process many also experience a spiritual awakening to the understanding that each of us is inevitably here to heal, learn, grow, and evolve through that same faith and love.

On the day I was born, I was named, Pamela Rhea Nine. The “Rhea” portion of my name was given to me after my Father, Walter Ray Nine. Everyone knew him as, Ray. I have so many wonderful memories of the times we spent together. He played a major role in my life in many ways and still does in spirit.

My father was a man known for his integrity and kindness. He was very well respected within the community and I can honestly say I don’t know of anyone who had an unkind word to say to, or about him. He was also a very patient and methodical man. Some would even say (jokingly) if you asked him a question, you may have forgotten what it was by the time he finished answering you.

In 1940, my grandparents purchased a 92-acre farm. When each of their five children married, they were given a parcel of land on the farm. My grandfather had horses, cattle and chickens and also farmed his land with crops. My father (along with my grandfather) spent many hours teaching me how to ride horses, the importance of taking care of and being connected to the earth, the value of nurturing animals and how to care for our home-grown foods that were planted on the farm.

By trade, my father was a welder. He was also one of those rare men who was able to do everything, whether it was carpentry, plumbing, electrical or just anything that needed to be done. He could also run a mean vacuum cleaner and fold laundry to perfection. I used to joke around with him and say he could go through the grocery store the fastest of anyone I had ever seen, after my mother made out her list. Everyone who knew my father also knows when he went to the grocery store, it sometimes seemed as though he was there for days.

One of my fondest memories of my father was when he was teaching me how to drive. He always had a truck. On one of my first driving lesson outings, I was pulling back into our driveway and I ran into the fence post. I was scared he would really be mad at me. Instead, he just got out and looked at the dent in his front fender and shook his head and said, “next time you’ll have to cut the wheel a little sharper” and smiled his crooked little smile that always warmed my heart. It was a while before I went out driving again but eventually he did take me. I know he is nudging my memories of him when I hear the song “Drive” by Allan Jackson. It played on the radio as I drove home from his funeral, and anytime I hear it now, I know he is nearby.

When he walked me down the aisle to give me away at my wedding, I could feel him trembling next to me. I glanced over at him and at that very moment, I thought I would suffocate from seeing tears roll down his cheek. As long as I live, I will never forget that. It was the only time I ever saw him cry.

In 1994, My father was mowing the grass with his riding lawnmower tractor. There was an embankment behind our house with a creek that ran through it. The bank gave away and the tractor over turned and was falling on top of my father. He pushed it off of him and the mower blades severed both of his thumbs completely and cut his right fore and middle fingers almost in half. My mother called me and when I arrived, I immediately went to the creek and began searching for his thumbs. I found one of them and packed it carefully in ice with the hope it could be reattached. He was flown by helicopter to Jewish Hospital in Louisville, KY for emergency surgery. My first son was almost a year old and I was still nursing him. I felt torn but I knew I had to go, so I packed my van and drove my mother and brother to Kentucky to be with my father. We had to stay there for days before he could be released and was able to make the drive home. The surgeons were unable to reattach his thumb that I had found due to the extensive tendon damage. They were able to save his fore and middle finger and said his use of them would be uncertain. Both of his hands and arms were bandaged up to his elbows for months. I cared for his wounds, shaved him and took turns feeding him during his healing process. The one thing that stands out most in my mind throughout his entire ordeal is the fact that my father never complained once. Over time, he did regain a great deal of use of his hands. He had a special knob made and attached to his truck steering wheel, so he was able to drive again. I was so proud of him for never giving in.

Several years after his tractor accident, he had another bad accident in his truck and suffered head trauma. He then suffered a series of mini strokes and eventually severe dementia associated with the Alzheimer Disease. The last portion of his life was spent in a nursing home. For a lot of the time during his last few months, he was unable to come back to the reality of this world. When I would spend time with him at the nursing home or go get him and take him to my house, I could touch his hands and look into his eyes and bring him back to the man I knew and loved – for a little while. During one of these times, we were sitting outside on the patio. He was quiet for a while and then suddenly he got up and went over to the flower garden and picked a purple iris and handed it to me and said, “here, I know purple is your favorite color and you like these.” When he placed it in my hand, it was all I could do to keep my heart from breaking into a million pieces – because I knew from my recent dreams (at that time) he was going home (to Heaven) very soon. I still have the purple iris he gave me. It’s pressed between the pages of my bible.

On February 10, 2003, I laid down in the afternoon to take a nap. During my nap, I dreamed about my father again. We were walking and I knew in the dream it would be our last walk together. I was awakened by the phone. It was a phone call from his nurse telling me that he wasn’t doing well and I should come. I called my brother and we both went to be with him. I asked to have some time alone with him. He was asleep and semi-unconscious at that point. I sat with him and held his hands and talked to him. I told him it was okay for him to let go and go home to be at peace. He clenched my hand for a brief moment. As I looked at him, I could see his aura energy becoming dimmer and it appeared to be moving up and away from his body. I also knew intuitively if I stayed by his side, he would not go out of his love and dedication to me. My brother and I talked and decided to go and get something to eat to pass some time. We had just left the restaurant when I got the call that he had just died. We went back and I sat with him for a long time. I could feel him there with me, but I could not see him in spirit. This was very difficult for me. I talked to him and told him to send me signs to let me know he was still with me. I knew in my heart I would see and hear him again in time.

On the day of my father’s funeral, I was completely numb. I knew he was there in spirit but I couldn’t get past his physical presence being absent from my life. When I left the grave side ceremony, my boys were going home with their dad. It always seemed they were supposed to be with him when I needed them most. We had received many potted plants and somehow they ended up going home with me. I went home alone and carried all the plants into my kitchen and sat at the table in the chair my father always sat in and prayed and went into a deep meditation. At some point, I remember getting up and going into the garage and bringing pots and garden soil back into the kitchen. I ended up re-potting all of the plants I had brought home from his funeral, along with all the ones I already had. For some reason I felt comforted having my hands in the soil and it made me feel closer to him. My father was there with me and I could see a faint outline of his spirit energy. I don’t even remember doing it, but I laid down on my kitchen floor and slept for hours. When I woke I was still in my clothes from his funeral and it was the next morning. When I got up, I noticed across the room there was something shining in the floor of my family room. I went over to it and there was a dime laying there. I also saw that the photo of my mother and father (from my wedding) was over turned on the book shelf. I had not even been in my family room since the day before my father died. I knew these were the first signs (of many) I would receive from my father.

Something very special between my father and I, was him giving me dimes when I was little and all throughout my life. He would give one to me and say it was because I was “just a Nine” and wink at me. He is still giving them to me from Heaven. I find them everywhere and keep them in a special box with the pennies I get from my grandmother.

As I mentioned earlier, the house I grew up in was a part of my grandparents farm. It was located just down the road from my grandparent’s home. I loved my grandmother (Mamaw) with everything I am, and still do. She is who I inherited my gifts from. She is also my Spirit Guardian and she helps me daily in my personal and professional life. I still see and hear her, even though she died in 1992. During the course of my life, when I would be at her house, I could stand at her kitchen window and look down the road and see my father’s truck in the driveway at my house. Her house, in time became mine and was where I lived when I married and had my babies – and I could still see my father’s truck in the driveway at their house. Eventually, I divorced and moved from there and in time ended up purchasing the home I am currently in. I have been a single mother for many years and in 2009, I was like many people also at that time struggling with the downfall of the economy. I was at one point very close to losing my house. One particular day, I was having an emotional time and was in my kitchen standing by the sink. I heard my father say my name. I turned and saw him standing by my refrigerator in spirit. He said, “go look out your window.” I turned to look in the direction of my kitchen window and said “that window?” I then turned to look back at him and he was gone. I walked over to my kitchen window and looked out. My knees literally buckled from what I saw. There in the driveway at a neighbors house, just down from mine, I saw what looked like the last truck my father had before he died. I immediately understood both messages I had been given. This to me was confirmation I was in my home and I would not loose it, and my father was letting me know he is still here with me guiding me and loving me, in spirit. In time, I confirmed with my neighbor, the truck had in fact been my father’s before he died in 2003, which would have been six years prior to my neighbor ending up with it in 2009. My father’s truck still sits in my neighbor’s driveway to this day. There are many times, when I drive by his truck and feel very overwhelmed from my missing him, and yet I smile to know this too is one of those wonderful and undeniable signs from Spirit. A sign which validates that my father will always be a part of my life. For this – and him, I am eternally grateful.

Thank you for so many things, Daddy. I love you so much. Keep the light on for me and always know I’m looking forward to having another walk with you one day.

ADDENDUM (05-04-17): Since this writing was originally published in 2011, quite a few things have changed in my life, but the dimes still appear consistently and I know my Dad is still very much with me in Spirit . . . and I still miss him, so very much. Thank you for another dime tonight, Daddy, and for loving me like I know you do. With love always, your daughter (Pam)
